John Paul Martin

Biography

After earning his J.D., cum laude, from William Mitchell College of Law, John Paul Martin has become an experienced and proficient practitioner engaged in several practice areas at Martin & Squires; areas including business transactions, real estate, estate planning and directing commercial litigation, on both trial and appellate levels including shareholder/partner disputes. His list of clients have included a variety of individuals, privately and publicly held corporations, and government institutions, including city and county governmental units, the Federal Deposit Insurance Corp., and the Resolution Trust Corp.

Prior to founding Martin & Squires, he was a shareholder and director of the law firms of Hessian & McKasy, P.A. and Tews, Squires, Martin & Martinson, P.A. with offices in both Minneapolis and St. Paul.

John also serves as general counsel to several closely held businesses, many of which are family owned. In this capacity he provides counseling, advocacy and support to the business entities, as well as owners, managers and employees of the businesses he serves.
